The International Conference on the History of Cartography will be organised in Amsterdam from 14 - 19 July 2019.
The International Conference on the History of Cartography (ICHC) is the only scholarly conference solely dedicated to advancing knowledge of the history of maps and mapmaking, regardless of geographical region, language, period or topic.
The conference promotes free and unfettered global cooperation and collaboration among cartographic scholars from any academic discipline, curators, collectors, dealers and institutions through illustrated lectures, presentations, exhibitions, and a social programme. In order to expand awareness of issues and resources, each conference is sponsored by leading educational and cultural institutions.
The fees* for the conference are the following:
Regular conference fee: 370 euros (after March 1)
Early bird conference fee: 300 euros (until March 1)
Student rate: 120 euros
Accompanying persons: 150 euros
Farewell dinner Friday 19 July: 100 euros
Post-conference tour to Enkhuizen 20 July: 120 euros
*A ticket to the conference includes: access to the programme with several evening events, coffee and tea during all breaks, lunches at the KIT,
Accompanying persons cannot attend the papers but are very welcome during coffee breaks, lunches and the evening events.
Farewell dinner includes: a three course dinner (plus wines, sodas and coffee) at the magnificent centre area of het Scheepvaartmuseum.
Post-conference tour includes: transfer to and from Enkhuizen, a full programme with tours etc, lunch, coffee and a dinner party at a boat.
